What to expect on your first visit
PATIENT REGISTRATION We ask first-time patients to
register with our receptionist. In order to establish your medical and
insurance records, it's necessary that we obtain relevant information.
THE TREATMENT PROCESS Depending on the nature of
your condition, you may need to be seen by more than one health care
professional. Because of our affiliation with the University of Louisville
School of Medicine, fellows, residents and medical students in training
may occasionally participate in your treatment. These knowledgeable
professionals are an integral part of our health care delivery team
and offer additional insights and observations to assist you. Laboratory
or other diagnostic tests may also be recommended.
- If surgery is to be scheduled, you will meet with our surgery scheduler to make the process easy. Details of the planned procedure will be discussed with you by your physician as well as our scheduler.
- A social worker will be able to assist to assist you, if necessary.
- All patients are screened to see whether they might benefit from the services of our biobehavioral oncology colleagues.
