About insurance

If your insurance requires a referral from your primary care physician, you must obtain it before your visit. If a referral is required and you are unable to obtain it before your appointment, you will be asked to reschedule or to pay for your visit in full.

We do not file all types of insurance and some procedures, such as those in vitro fertilization, may not be covered by some insurance providers. If you have any questions about your insurance coverage, our Patient Accounts Department will be glad to help you. Call them at (502) 271-5996, 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday through Friday.

University Women's HealthCare does not accept the responsibility of negotiating claims with insurance companies or other persons. The patient is responsible to University Women's HealthCare for payment of accounts within a reasonable time, regardless of the status of a claim. When a claim is pending or when treatment takes an extended period of time, we will be glad to help you find ways to arrange a payment plan.
