Ovarian Tissue Freezing
The Fertility Center now offers this experimental procedure for women who cannot use fertility medications or when time does not allow for embryo or egg freezing.
Part, or in some protocols, the entire ovary is removed during an out-patient procedure. The tissue is then frozen and stored for later use. This option requires the least amount of time and can be accomplished as part of another necessary surgery, possibly reducing costs. Because this technique is so new, the success rates of this procedure can not be accurately evaluated.
