Our History

Doctors Christine Cook and Marvin Yussman from the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine started the IVF program in Louisville in 1984, and our first IVF babies (triplets) were born on February 5, 1987. Today we can offer couples many treatment options, including the latest IVF techniques, egg and sperm donor programs, and corrective surgeries, such as reversal of tubal ligation. In the year 2005, we welcomed our 1000th baby born to parents assisted by our physicians and staff.

Research continues to expand the ways physicians can help patients conceive and deliver healthy babies. Methods of avoiding multiple births are also improving. You can be assured that the University OB/GYN Associates Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility will be following and implementing all new practices that can help their patients.

The practice is a member of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART).
